Arrebeuri* est un atelier de design de meubles situé en Bretagne et fondé en 2010 par Stephen Lee sur les principes d’un design basé sur la collaboration avec le client et l'expérimentation pratique de matériaux nobles.
La collection de meubles actuelle expérimente le pliage du laiton et du noyer comme alternative aux menuiseries traditionnelles tout en célébrant leurs propriétés les plus fondamentales.
Les conceptions d'éclairage explorent les effets de la lumière et du mouvement sur les qualités chaudes inhérentes au laiton, à la fois comme filtre et comme réflecteur.
Les appareils invitent les utilisateurs à toucher et à déplacer les composants pour créer différents effets d'éclairage.
Toutes les pièces sont conçues sur commande et fabriquées à la main.

 

Arrebeuri* is a furniture design studio and workshop in the Brittany region of France founded in 2010 by Stephen Lee on the principles of design through client collaboration and hands-on experimentation with noble materials.
The current furniture collection experiments with the bending of brass and walnut as an alternative to traditional joinery while also celebrating their most fundamental properties.
The lighting designs explore the effects of light and movement on the inherent warm qualities of brass, both as a filter and as a reflector.
The fixtures invite users to touch and move the components to create different lighting effects.
All pieces are designed to order and made by hand.

Stephen Lee est titulaire diplôme en design d'intérieur de l'Université du Massachusetts et d'une maîtrise en architecture de l'Université de Virginie, USA.
Avant de créer Arrebeuri, il a travaillé pour Machado Silvetti et Sasaki Associates à Boston, USA, puis en tant que concepteur principal pour Jean Paul Viguier à Paris.
Au cours de plusieurs années de restauration et de vie à bord d'un voilier en bois classique dans le port de Boston, il a découvert sa passion pour l'artisanat et les matériaux nobles.
En 2010, après 15 ans d’architecture, il s’est installé dans la campagne française pour créer un atelier combinant son amour du design et de la fabrication. Stephen conçoit et produit actuellement toutes les pièces à la main dans une ancienne ferme bretonne où il vit avec sa femme et ses deux enfants.

 

 

Stephen Lee received a BFA in interior design from the University of Massachusetts, and a Masters in Architecture from the University of Virginia.
Before creating Arrebeuri, he worked for Machado Silvetti and Sasaki Associates in Boston,and later as a lead project designer for Jean Paul Viguier in Paris.
During several years of restoring and living aboard a classic wooden sailing yacht in Boston Harbor, he discovered his passion for craftsmanship and noble materials.
In 2010, after 15 years in architecture, he moved to the French countryside to create a studio and workshop that combines his love for design and making. Stephen currently designs and produces all pieces by hand at an old farmhouse in Brittany where he lives with his wife and two children.
